Harnethia Mansell
FOUNDER/DIRECTOR
As for me, I am a retired educator, teacher/administrator. I taught in the Moreno Valley School District for several years. I also taught in the Diamond Bar (Walnut) School District and California Institution for Men in Chino, Ca. I retired from the prison as a High School teacher in 1984. Before coming to California I taught in South Carolina, Maine, Alabama at Alabama State College, Paris, France and the Philippines.
My Education includes a MS in Administration from the Pepperdine University, MA from St. Louis University in the Philippines, Doctoral Studies at La Verne. I only share that information about myself because you should know who is working with your child. But it is not the degree that makes a person good for students. I believe it is the love for humanity, especially our youth. "Teachers are born, not made," and most of all it is my ministry. Otherwise at my age I would be rocking in my rocking chair taking life easy. However, once a teacher, always a teacher and I cannot stop unless God directs otherwise.
I have a simple thought about promoting racial equality and understanding. "You don't have to be together all the time, but you can always work together.
I have taught students from kindergarten to college and founded my own school, where myself and others could focus on helping students with special needs or learning disorders.
And she did all that as a military wife raising seven sons.
The Cultural Heritage Performers was started because I wanted to show young people that by learning the customs and traditions of other cultures they can understand that people are all the same and can work together for racial harmony.
